The Corona Art Association will honor 2018 Artist of the Year Janet Griffith at an open house reception on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Griffith taught at Norco High School for 26 years before retiring. Her art career began years ago with tole painting and then expanded to framed acrylic and watercolor paintings.
“We say Janet paints on anything that holds still, with everyone acknowledging that her animal portraits painted on palm fronds are unique and truly outstanding,” the group said in a news release.
The event runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Corona Civic Center, 815 W. 6th St.
