Juror's Best of Theme: Jill Jones "A Sparkling Wish" Juror's Awards of Distinction: Veora Erwin "The Angels Sing" and Evelyn Howland "Reflections" Juror's Awards of Merit: Al Varela "Juan Diego", Al Varela "El Angel" and Elizabeth Carr "The Ark" Juror's Awards of Merit in Non-Theme: Elizabeth Carr "Big City" and Joan Coffey "Convention Center Flags" special thanks to our sponsors and gift donors including: High Priority Printing Krikorian Theaters Dos Lagos Jill Jones Cathi Calhoun Ira Yawnick Coming Up in January 2009-- "Heart and Soul" The Valentine Show Delivery of Artwork: Wednesday January 7, 1:00 to 6:30 p.m. Entry in this show is open to members and non-members. Work that addresses the theme is eligible for merchandise prizes. Non-theme work is also accepted. All work must be original art work created by the artist. Artists may enter up to three pieces. $10 per piece for non-members, $7 per piece for members. CAA members are eligible to enter a 4th piece in free with payment for three. Artists may sign up for membership at the time of entry to qualify for member discount and free entry of a fourth piece. After the Valentine Show CAA hosts The Founders Day Show in February/March. This is a competitive show with cash prizes awarded by the juror including $125 BOS, $100 1st Place, $75 2nd Place, $50 for 3rd Place. Honorable Mention, President's Award and Show Committee Awards will also be presented.
Juror to be selected. Opening reception: Saturday , 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Points are awarded for participation and for place prizes which count towards the Artist of the Year competition which starts in January. The 2008 Artist of the Year will present a show in March/April 2009.
