FREE Youth* (ages 12-18) Art Class: Altered Books Workshop

As a book artist I will be teaching attendees how to create a work of  art on pages of a hardback book. It is a piece of art you hold, share,  gift, rather than placing on a wall!  A hardback book’s pages are reinforced to withstand embellishments,  writings, photos, layering of special papers, images, stickers, stamps,  windows, secret pockets, etc. The book can be thematic to the book  itself or thematic to images inside, filled with your personal images,  or simply something beautiful you create with random ephemera. Each student will be going home with their own personal book they have  created! All books, papers, scissors, glue and fun ephemera included.

No experience required and all materials supplied: but Feel free to bring personal photos, paper items to glue into your book.

Dear Parents:

Please help us to be able to continue offering these classes free of charge to your children by only signing them up if you are sure they can attend. Although the classes are free to you, they do cost money to put on and our art teachers have to spend time and effort preparing for them. We often have less than half of the kids who sign up actually show up, and this puts our program at risk of having the funding taken away. So please , we ask kindly and with all respect, that you only register participants who are committed to attending the class.
