Autumn Haunt
2020

Virtual Art Challenge

The calendar says that summer is over. The kids are back at school. The nights are coming sooner. And our thoughts are shifting towards Autumn. With a new season upon us, it is time to hold another virtual art challenge! This time around we are doing just two themes collected in the month of October on the 16th and 30th.

The first theme is... Masquerade Ball! Think about masks, costumes, music, dancing, and celebration. Explore mediums of papier-mâché, paint, mosaic tiles, clay, feathers, baubles and beads. Make a masquerade ball mask, or anything else the theme inspires in you, in 3D or 2D in whatever your medium of choice is. Entries are due by 5pm on Friday, October 16th. Cost $10 (or $15 for both themes. CNUSD area K-12 students free). Limit 2 entries per person.

The second theme is... Haunted Houses! Here we encourage you to create a 3D

haunted house, but 2D is perfectly fine as well. Some ideas: make a birdhouse haunted,

create a haunted gingerbread cottage, build and decorate any haunted house from any

material, or sculpt one. Don't let this limit your creativity, if the theme inspires you in

a different direction, go with it. As before, your medium is your choice. Entries are due

by 5pm on Friday, October 30th. Cost $10 (or $15 for both themes. K-12 students free). Limit 2 entries per person.
