About the event
Glass artisan Becky Floyd, owner of Greyhill Art Glass, will guide you through the relaxing and medatative creation of free-form mosaic art. Mosaic is an ancient Roman art-form, the word "andamento" refers to the directional flow of the tesserae, or tiles, in a mosaic. In this workshop, you will be encouraged to follow the flow of your own intuition and enjoy the process of creative expression. Basic techniques will be demonstrated and all necessary materials supplied, including a 10" x 10" surface, stained glass tesserae, glass gems and other findings, mosaic adhesive, and grout*. Participants are encouraged to bring any small, durable objects to include in their mosaic if they wish (e.g., buttons, shells, smooth rocks, old jewelry, beads, etc.) keeping in mind that water and grout will be applied to all areas of the mosaic.
*Grouting is including in the workshop fee, to be done by the instructor after the mosaic glue has cured. Participants can pick up their finished artwork the week following the workshop during regular business hours.Â
** Minimum of 4 participants required or the class will cancel**
