Recent Events:
On June 11, 2024 we held our monthly General Meeting for members. We welcomed stone carving artist William Berger in his alter-ego Scully McQuillan to give us a fascinating demonstration in the ancient art and history of stone carving and cutting.
We also celebrated Janet Griffith's 2023 Artist of the Year solo art show.
Throughout the summer, CAA members and friends have busily been building fanciful art and decor for October's Beaux Arts Ball fundraising gala, "Through the Looking Glass". Don't forget to get your tickets here: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/beaux-arts-ball
June 29th, CAA members sponsored a table at and attended the Lake Norconian Club Foundation's "Last Hurrah" 1930's themed fundraising gala to support their ongoing mission to save the historic Lake Norconian Club.
Corona Art Association members marched in the City of Corona's Independence Day Parade on July 4th with our very own Queen of Hearts (2nd VP Kim Mabon)! We showed off our Wonderland themed art and passed out candy to the kids.
On June 22nd, CAA 1st VP Lori Alarcon hosted a Student Art Show for the kids who have taken the Reed Foundation sponsored Youth Art Classes at CAA in the past year.
The General Meeting July 9th included a hands-on demonstration of the internet-famous marble-rolling painting technique. CAA Secretary Leanna Griffin and 1st VP Lori Alarcon led the project.
In June and July CAA members Lori Alarcon (June 5) and Kim Mabon (July 17th) partnered with the Corona Public Library to bring fun and free paint and sip events to local residents.
Opportunities for Members:
Members, please mark your calendars and plan to "step up" and help out at these upcoming community events! Non-members, don't forget to stop by and say "hi" to us when you see us in the community. Donations are also always appreciated!
Corona Summer Street Fair on Thursday night 6pm Aug. 8. We'll need plenty of assistance staffing the gallery and helping with kids' art and craft projects each night. Come out and enjoy the concert in our AC! Let Karla know if you can help.
Adult Student Art Show Prep help needed on on Aug 23, 24, 25. Let Becky know if you can assist.
Beaux Arts Ball Prep on Thursdays 12-4pm in the Gallery. Let Laureen know if you want to help!
Take-In for "Dreamscapes" art show September 13-15.
Tuesdays 10am-12pm: Adaptive Art Class for those with special needs 14+. CAA member-artist Diane Archuletta hosts the FREE adaptive arts class every week to over 70 teens and adults with cognitive disabilities. But she cannot do it alone! Diane needs you help to keep this program running. If you can spare some time to help, just drop by the FAM room before class starts at 10am.

Our bimonthly art shows occur in odd-numbered months (January, March, May, July, September, and November). Take-In/Take-Out is held the weekend after the General Meeting.

Save the Dates!
September 28: Fall-O-Ween Arts and Crafts Bootique. CAA members needed to staff the boutique.
October 12: Halloweekend. Volunteers needed to staff the gallery, do crafts with kids, and pass out candy.

Current business hours are Thursdays 12:30-4pm, Fridays and Saturdays 12-4pm, Sundays 2-4pm.
Recurring meetings pattern:
Board meetings are always the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6pm.
General meetings are always the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6pm.
Art show take-in/take-out is the weekend after the general meetings in odd months.
The artist reception is the Saturday after take-in at 6pm.

The Corona Art Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community arts organization that has been serving the artistic needs of our communities since your participation in our events and donations help us to continue to support visual arts education and enjoyment for free or low-cost to residents of all ages and abilities. Thank you.
We especially need donations to our Adaptive Art classes for kids and adults with special needs. These are taught at the Corona Library 100% by volunteers. Please email us at admin@coronaartassociation.org if you can help.
