March is here and we are getting ready for spring at the Corona Art Association, starting with a plein air painting class with CAA member, Pam Daly. Pam gave a demonstration at our March 2020 general meeting about plein air painting, and then the world shut down!

One year later and we are ready to get out there and paint outdoors. This is a two-day workshop, beginning on March 6, 2021 from 11am - 12pm with a Zoom presentation introducing the basics of plein air painting. In it, Pam will let you know everything you need to get started. No experience is necessary. Pam will tell you what supplies you should have, however, if you want to try before you buy, CAA can "lend" you everything you need to do the actually painting on Saturday, March 20th outside our gallery at the Corona Historic Civic Center. We need to be ready to paint by 9am, so set up will begin at 8am. We anticipate painting until 11, and then will need time to clean and pack up, so expect to be on your way by noon. Take-in for our March/April 2021 "Botanicals" art show will be Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 14, from 12-4pm each day. Remember, you do not have to be a CAA member to submit art to our shows. For all the details, go to: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/art-shows

We are also coordinating our Window Art Display with the Woman's Improvement Club of Corona's Garden Walk, to show garden and spring related art in April. In March, residents of Peppermint Ridge will be supplying the art, and we thank the Corona-Norco United Way for their "lovely" Valentine's Day themed art we showcased in February.

Our adult (16+) painting class takes place in the gallery on Mondays from 3:30-5:30pm with CAA member Mary Lou Wallace. Sign up any time for 4 classes including supplies, just $60: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/bookings-checkout/painting-for-adults/book?referral=service_list_widget

Also coming up, you can spruce up your home's exterior with stained glass mosaic numbers for your house numbers, or a word or letter/number combination you like. Our March 26-27 workshop will supply you with all the materials you need including up to 5 letters and/or numbers. Space is limited and you must attend both days. Cost is $20 payable here: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/event-details/mosaic-house-numbers

And once again we are hosting a Virtual Art Challenge! What will the theme be this time? All will be revealed on March 12. Other details and to sign up here: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/event-details/virtual-art-challenge-march-2021

And last but not least, we have FREE youth art classes coming up (made possible by the Reed Foundation for the Arts), including Freestyle Rock Painting https://www.coronaartassociation.org/event-details/youth-freestyle-rock-painting-class-free, and new sessions of the 8-week art class for Jr. and Sr. High level students: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/art-classes-services Space is limited, so sign up your child today!
